FAQ: Mexico-U.S. Cross-Border Transport
How does the crossing at Nuevo Laredo-Laredo work?
The cargo departs from its Mexican origin on a Mexican unit to customs at the international bridge. There, a transfer (transloading or cabotage) to a U.S. unit takes place. The U.S. customs broker manages the entry into the U.S. and the U.S. unit delivers to final destination.
What is C-TPAT?
C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) is a voluntary CBP (U.S. Customs) program that facilitates cargo crossing for companies certified as trusted partners. It reduces inspections and speeds up the border crossing.
